    LOCOMOTIVE SC ACADEMY 5U

HOSA was founded 40 years ago with a simple mission, provide any interested child the opportunity to play soccer regardless of age or ability. Some begin their soccer career in the Locomotive Recreation Program while others seek a more competitive environment which can be found in the Locomotive Academy Program.

The LOCOMOTIVE ACADEMY 5U program builds upon the skills introduced in the Academy 4U offering (it’s recommended but not required that a child begin in the 4U Academy offering).

Registered participants meet weekly on Friday’s or Sunday’s from 5pm-6pm with 30-minutes of practice followed by 30-minutes of game play). The LA5U program operates in a “pool” format rather than assigning players to specific teams to ensure the Locomotive SC Professional Coaching Staff (with assistance from parent volunteers) interacts with all participants.

Each weekly 30-minute game operates as follows:

    1. Teams will generally consist of 4-6 players for game play as deemed appropriate per the Locomotive SC Player Development model
    2. Small goals are used (no goalkeepers) and no scores are kept
    3. Coach/player interaction will vary and there may be periods without any instruction affording the participants "free play" time.

    ACADEMY 5U FEE $95, INCLUDES T-SHIRT

NOTE: The HOSA Locomotive Soccer Club places an emphasis on providing opportunities that are developmentally appropriate. On occasion, the Locomotive Professional Coaching Staff may identify a participant in one program that demonstrates the readiness for another. In such a case a member of the Coaching Staff will contact the parents to discuss that recommendation and options.
